Hi.

Welcome to Elite Living Health & Nutrition. My name is Laura Warren. I am a Consultant nutritionist with an infectious passion for life, health and nutrition.

My philosophy is that beauty begins within, and believes men and women deserve to be and to feel the very best version of themselves. I recognise that one size doesn't fit all, so my individually tailored programmes offer one-one coaching and corporate wellness programs. Each plan is devised specifically to meet the client's individual goals.

I take a realistic approach to each of my clients' physiology, lifestyle and personal circumstances. Part of my approach involves making simple lifestyle changes, teaching busy professionals and ordinary people how they can stay healthy 'on the go', how to integrate healthier (and often delicious!) food and ingredients into their diet, all the time keeping a positive and realistic set of targets that have the potential to be truly life-changing.

Popping the Cork in this champagne city

Popping the Cork in this champagne city

OK, dear reader, I’ve got a confession to make.

For some time now I’ve been leading a double life. I haven’t told anyone but every few weekends I’ve been indulging a secret passion that I can’t seem to control.

You’ve probably guessed it, but I’ve been having an affair on the side and his name is Lee! Well, sort of. Not with a fella, but with a place that has become a sort of home from home the past few months. And after another pleasure-filled weekend on the banks of the Lee. I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Cork. Don’t get me wrong, the Marble City has its charms and I'm not ditching my hometown for anywhere else. But hey, a girl needs a bit of a variety in life and when it comes to having a quick breakaway it’s good to climb into my wheels and head down the N25 for a bit of fun and retail therapy.

Like every lady, I love a bit of pampering and these days I’ve been opting for R & R weekend breaks than the good old-fashioned benders I use to be on.

So last weekend, after a week of slogging it out, I booked in the luxurious 4-star Kingsley Hotel & Spa right on the banks of the Lee. The place just excludes calmness.

All of the staff were incredibly polite and helpful and good craic too.

To begin with, I treated myself to some treatments! I started with an upper-body relaxing treatment (50minutes of pure bliss), followed by a hot stone back, neck and shoulder massage, then a luxurious facial from the Natural Spa Factory. This was followed by a calming hand and arm massage, this released tension causing me to too a few embarrassing little whimpers. The poor therapist probably thought I was a few sandwiches short of a picnic. And she’s probably right…..

I didn’t have long enough to enjoy all of the spa delights they had to offer, but they included an impressive Thermal Suite, Turkish Baths, Finnish Saunas, Tropical Rain Showers, relaxing heated loungers and aromatherapy baths.

Relaxed, but hungry, I finished off the day with some gourmet dining complete with a view of the Lee, in the Hotel’s Fairbanks Restaurant. It was genuinely mouth-watering and all served with a smile and a laugh from my lovely waiter Barrie. A fantastic Ambassador for the Hotel & Cork as a whole.

I was exhausted after all that pampering (sure God love me!) so it was time to end the trip by taking a visit to Cork’s famous English Market to splash out on some food and wine to take home. So it’s safe to say I certainly had a love affair with the banks of the River Lee. Until next time!
